Setup and troubleshooting for Repeating Beep on Android.
Quick checks
- Use the device's media volume and check which audio output is selected.
- Tap Test beep to check the sound without starting or changing the repeating schedule.
- Tap Start to begin a session. Use the app's Stop button to end it.
- To use the notification Stop control, allow notifications and make sure the timer notification channel is enabled in Android settings. Android may still limit where the notification appears.
- If an active wired or Bluetooth audio route disconnects, the timer stops for route safety. Reconnect, check the selected output, then start a new session.
Background playback and battery settings
A started session can continue while another app is open or the screen is off, subject to Android and device conditions. Battery saving, interruptions or system actions can delay or stop it. A running session uses power between beeps too; longer intervals do not guarantee lower battery use. Reopen the app and start again if Android has ended the session.
Notification visibility
Timer notifications are optional. Check Android Settings for Repeating Beep's notification permission, timer notification channel and lock-screen notification settings. Turning off notifications does not itself stop the timer, but system controls may be unavailable. The in-app Stop is available while the app is open.
Also vibrate
Also vibrate is optional and works only while the app is open, visible, active, unlocked and the screen is on, subject to device and system vibration settings. At zero media volume, background or locked operation has no perceptible beep or vibration.
